1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MoneyFun ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use MoneyFun, including our website, mobile applications, and any related services.

2. Description of Service

MoneyFun is a personal finance management platform that helps you:

  • Connect and aggregate your bank accounts
  • Track transactions and categorize spending
  • Create and manage budgets using envelope methodology
  • Set financial goals and track progress
  • Collaborate with household members on finances
  • Receive AI-powered insights and recommendations

3. Account Registration

To use MoneyFun, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Promptly update any information that changes
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Be at least 18 years old

4. Bank Account Connections

MoneyFun uses Plaid to connect to your financial institutions. By connecting your accounts:

  • You authorize us to retrieve your transaction and balance data
  • You represent that you are the owner of the accounts you connect
  • You understand we do not have access to your bank login credentials
  • You may disconnect accounts at any time

5. Subscription and Payments

MoneyFun offers free and premium subscription tiers:

  • Free Tier: Basic budgeting features with limited account connections
  • Premium Tier: Full features including unlimited accounts, AI insights, and more

For premium subscriptions:

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance
  • You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
  • 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee: If you are unsatisfied with your paid subscription for any reason, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial payment. To request a refund, go to Settings > Subscription & Billing and click "Request Refund." After 14 days, refunds are provided only as required by law.
  • We may change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Share your account with others
  • Attempt to access accounts or data you don't own
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use automated means to access the Service without permission
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
  • Use the Service to transmit malware or harmful content

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by MoneyFun and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

8. Your Data

You retain ownership of your personal data. By using MoneyFun, you grant us a license to:

  • Store and process your data to provide the Service
  • Use anonymized, aggregated data for analytics and improvement
  • Display your data back to you within the application

Our use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

No Financial Advice: MoneyFun provides tools and information for personal finance management. We do not provide financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. Consult qualified professionals for such advice.

Service Availability: The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Third-Party Services: We are not responsible for issues with third-party services including banks, Plaid, or payment processors.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MoneyFun shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Non-payment of subscription fees
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Extended periods of inactivity

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the application or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
